Haha. Terrible price. Converted, these cost about $65 here in Germany.
Finally you guys get screwed over from the import prices and not us Europeans for once.

With the Leopold competition at $99 and various other boards in this price range, this a terrible price for a [strike]low quality[/strike] medium quality entrance level board with MX Blue. And I am a freaking Cherry fanboy.

Yep, got mine for about 95$, with expensive shipping...

Also, only positive side of quality is the keycaps...

I think selling the blank models would be a good idea for them.
The only good thing about the new g80 models in that price range are the blank POM keycaps.

I like the fact that they are very easy to mod and customize to your liking.

Solderless switch-swapping ROOLZ!

Yeah.  Those of us who wanted a -3000 mostly got LSCRCs when they were available, and were spoiled with a sixty-five dollar price

[strike]Is it to much to hope that they will have NKRO like the Cherry MX Red 3000s? If they do, it would be great for mod projects like KL says. Otherwise... Meh?[/strike]

Never mind, I got the 3000 boards confused with the 3600s.

To you I say "Meh", Sir! Good day!

The G80-3000LSCRC-2 was RC for Republic of China (what a misnomer) so it had Chinese lettering and was I suspect a mistake by the Cherry US Sales Manager when ordering for the USA.

Republic of China is also known as Taiwan...People's Republic of China is the mainland.

Just for reference.

Interesting. If you hear any other product news, let us know.

Oh, and any idea why they'd be introducing a EU version here? Why not a US ANSI?

Because it's US-ANSI with a euro sign.  No big novelty.

The link implies it's 120 USD.  Sorry, my friend, but that's fail.

That places it above a Leopold.  Above a Rosewill.  In the territory of a Filco or a Blackwidow.  Above an Xarmor.  Light-years above a MKB-135B or M10.

And as much as I like the aesthetics, the value proposition of the 3000 is about 70 USD or less; comparable with a Unicomp.

Well, it's good that it has PCB mounted cherry blue switches.  That's always a positive, and it should have a cherry green spacebar too.

But $120 is more than it went for before as the G80-3000LSCRC-2
