Title: Will you committ?
Post by: Engine on Sun, 27 March 2011, 23:10:48: KL has taken the lead on the GH custom keyboard project and needs at least a 100 member committment to make the deal and get production rolling.
He got 144 people to say yes but only 63 committed to Clears for the switch.
The rest were in favor of Reds or didnt' want the project at all. Here's the thread:

The biggest kicker, is that EK will not committ to "Clears" anyway and so for sure no deal.
If 100 peeps can committ to Reds, then maybe this can take off again. Or, maybe Majestouch will committ to Clears if 100 peeps committ to that. I don't get why he won't do Clears but maybe numbers will convince him otherwise...

Post by: Engine on Sun, 27 March 2011, 23:31:43: It's Reds or Clears, as far as our choices from KL go but apparently, according to KL, Magestouch won't do Clears, which is weird considering there are 63 committed to them already.
I get the impression he likes and will get Reds, sooner or later anyway and that may fly but I can't confirm that bit.
As far as "how much"? Only KL would know if he knows that information yet or not.

I'm not getting why he wouldn't do it but maybe he will if he's presented w/100 or more Clears peeps? Anyone else? Come on folks, let do it!

Post by: majestouch on Mon, 28 March 2011, 00:54:43: I like clears better than reds, but I'm not interested in the proposed GH keyboard at this time; regardless of switch type. Also, making such a low volume of boards with clears or any rare switch could raise the cost substantially since you wouldn't be buying the switches in bulk. (10k switches isn't "bulk" to the factories making these boards.)

As for money talks, I never research it but I'm sure we can find a trust fund service where we can safely make individual deposits, track the fund progress and use the capital to get the boards when we reach the quota required or... If we don't make it in a given time get refunded with minimal fees.

Again, is there anything serious about a GH exclusive keyboard?

It wouldn't surprise me if ebay or paypal has such service. Any honest layer or accountant in the room?
