I play virtually no game on my computer. Yesterday, when I windowshopped the pc store, I found a very Cool designed key pad manufactured by logitect - the gaming board g-13.
there are 22 programmable keys that are able to record "macros" for game but i am pretty sure that the keys might be programmed to type any letters symbol, number and function key too.
Since it costs 7+ times compared to a standard keyboard, i did refrain from risking to buy a keypad not for game but to try program it to type. Any buddy got the G13 and give me a command on the possibility to amend it into a usable keyboard?

Since it costs 7+ times compared to a standard keyboard,
it looks very expensive for what it is, but real one handed keyboards cost a lot more:
FrogPad - $140 - http://www.frogpad.com/FPIStore-OnlineStore.html
Matias - $595 - http://matias.ca/halfkeyboard/index.php
I'm not sure these are even mechanical, and the price of the Matias is beyond obscene. You can find others on here: http://www.onehandedkeyboard.com/
I can't say if the G13 does what you want, but if it does maybe the price is not so bad.
