Item: Filco Tenkeyless with Cherry Blacks. Also comes with Yellow WASD, Key Puller, and Red ESC Key.
Asking Price: $105 + Shipping. For now, I'd like to keep shipping within the CONUS48 only. If you're local, I can arrange for pick up also. (Chicago region)
Condition: Very good condition. Gently used, purchased in October 2010. There are no shiny keys from what I can see, and all keys function properly. Comes with original box and packaging.
Extra(s):
- Spare brand new set of Filco printed keys that I stripped from another Filco keyboard. (+$25 with purchase of keyboard.)
Feel free to post below or send a PM. (threadcrapping welcome)

If only I weren't broke and recently unemployed....
-
^Seconding Ripter's opinion on this one...
-
How much for shipping to Denver area? If this ends up being cheaper than buying new off Amazon I might do it.
-
Shipping should be right around $10 bucks anywhere in the CONUS48 via USPS Priority Mail.
-
$120 shipped eh? Hmm.... this is tough. Poker Brown or Filco Black this weekend.
-
Filco Black.
-
I don't recommend broke and unemployed people hang around gadget heavy sites like Geekhack and HeadFi.
You mean like ricercar?
-
Filco Black.
Yeah, more than likely, but I REALLY want a Poker for my laptop.

Updated with Image.

I had to post something when I saw that.
I agree that this is not the place for me right now. For some reason I can't stay away though.

It appears to be a black MX Poker.
Anyway, bumpin!

Break it up and sell me the yellow WASD? :)

I pm'd him about this on the 14th but never got a reply. Guess he doesn't wanna break up the set which is understandable (wish at least he'd told me that lol).

Did we loose a few posts?
-
Yeah, because of the forum upgrade plus iMav forgot to back it up first. =P

Ya, looks like it =/

Hard to believe no one wants this great deal.
The yellow WASD alone is worth $30 if you buy it on line right now...
-
For me, it's the CONUS that prevents me from actually sending a PM.
Anyway, friendly bump for a great deal!

Uh really? Because awhile back I was considering buying a bunch of sets to sell. They were like less than $5 a set.
-
One reason why I cannot buy this is because I am moving to Seattle area in a week.
If this is still available even after I move in to my new place, I will buy this one.

I think it was $4 on Armygroup, but after shipping it comes to $29. I wish I got em when you did. Right now, I'm waiting to see what my BiL got me from his business trip to Korea...I asked for a set of yellows and pinks...but beggers can't be choosers...
Bump for a great deal.

My frame of reference is Cherry browns & blues, buckling springs, and Topre variable weighted boards. Would I like a Cherry black board for typing and general use? I don't do any gaming at all, and everything I've read seems to indicate that blacks aren't very pleasant unless you're gaming (too firm, not tactile, etc.).
-
I use Blacks for everything and I love them. All other Cherry switches (with the exception of Clears) were too light for me, causing me to bottom out very frequently.
Bump for Blacks!
-
Interesting. What do you guys think about trading this board + $100 cash for my 103U-UW?
-
I haven't tried out a Topre board so I can't comment on a comparison, but if you're still shopping around to try different switches and are not overly impressed with Topre give it a shot.
-
I would think since you don't game blacks wouldn't be the best, but you may have Hulk fingers so it could work out
-
I wouldn't say I'm shopping around for switches, but as a keyboard enthusiast, I think it's interesting to try a variety of different switches. Having said that, I have no interest in purely collectible keyboards, so it'd have to be something I'd actually want to use.

I would say that the Cherry Blacks are not super ideal for regular typing and general use, unless you have hulk fingers (think Man Hands from Seinfeld). My friend loves Cherry Blacks because he really does push the keys with force, so he prefers them for everything use. Just to put things into perspective, he finds that the Topre variable weights (especially the 30-45g keys) are way too light.

That's basically the same thing with me (besides the part about trying a Topre). I play piano, cello, and guitar so it's natural for me to press hard when I type.
I really wish people wouldn't hate on Black switches so much, they're really great!
