I would like to be able to plug my ps3 and computer into said device and plug the other end to my monitor, and be able to switch between which one will display on the monitor. Any known products that aren't ridiculously expensive? I'm pretty sure what I need is a DVI KVM, but it doesn't seem to exist in the under 50 USD range

good idea, thanks. I'll probably do that if my new monitor ends up coming in.

what about this? Could it be any good? http://www.amazon.com/Ultra-High-Performance-Switcher-Switch/dp/B0015YWKYY (http://www.amazon.com/Ultra-High-Performance-Switcher-Switch/dp/B0015YWKYY)

This was actually a terrible idea, lol. But I should have caught it before hand. Apparently HDMI doesn't allow PC resolutions such as 1680x1050. I guess I might try to sell it here if anyone is interested.
Oh, and 24 AWG is definitely way too big of cables if anyone was wondering.

HDMI allows the same resolutions as single-link DVI, which goes up to 1920x1200 60 Hz.
The problem is, cheap HDMI gear might not support the higher bandwidths required for any more than 1920x1080 30 Hz.

The cables I have are pretty thick. How would I get the other resolutions to transfer through?
