Hi, im new to the forums. I have been reading the threads for noobs and have come to the conclusion that cherry blues are the right ones for me.
Based on availability and research I have come down to Leopold and Filco. Which one has the better build quality? That is one of my biggest concerns besides switch types is build quality.
-
I don't find them to be terribly different in regard to build quality. Leopold has the removable USB cable that Filco doesn't, Filco spacebars don't work on Leopold boards. If either of those are issues for you, let that be your guide. Apart from that, flip a coin.
-
Thanks! Does Filco have the three way cable management like the Leopold?
-
No, it doesn't. I've heard that Leopolds have issues with their stabilizer bars and that may make the longer keys harder to depress. The Leopolds are pretty much the same build quality as the Filcos, but I've heard more complaints about Leopolds recently.
If you're willing to take a chance and save yourself $10 get the Leopold. If you'd rather grab the Filco off Amazon (if you have prime) it will only be $10 more than the Leopold and you'll get yourself a definite quality product.

Prime or the willingness to wait a little longer for the free ground delivery.

I think im going to go with the Filco. It seems even though the margin is small people have better things to say about Filcos.

That is definitely the safe course to pursue. FWIW, I have a Leopold and don't imagine I'll be buying any more of them.
