Title: Filco Linear Tenkeyless - CHERRY RED w/ KBC Engraved PBT.

it is inevitable that one of my keyboards would go up for sale so today I offer the following.

1) Filco Linear Red Tenkeyless
2) KBC Engraved PBT

Both are brand new, I used this board for about 2 mins with the PBT keys. The original keys are included and have not been used and abused.

Price: $SOLD but please stay for the LULZ + shipping to wherever! In North America expect ~20CAD or less.

Smelly Canadians get first dibs if they use EMT.

Let us assume I get it to Canada without considering the extra shipping cost, then there is taxes in my case 12% into Canada.

KBC PBTs 65USD? shipped to Canada, taxes 12% on that.

SO... in summary

164 * 1.12 + 65 * 1.12 = 256.48 approx...

Let us not forget amazon doesn't have these anymore and direct from keyboardco costs much more...

Was it a great deal? No. Did I save money? You bet your ass I did. Between $30-50 easily - Pandas numbers are conservative.

Well by conventional one dimensional thinking and logical reasoning, then maybe you would have a point?

Let us suppose another hypothetical scenario, say we buy we linear red from keyboardco for 130GBP and 15GBP for shipping. 145GBP = 226CAD. Lets add some KBC keycaps 41.6USD + 25USD = 66.6USD, which happens to be 63.5CAD at current exchange. So 226.6+63.5 = 290.1CAD. Still expensive? Well those unlucky Canadians usually have to pay tax ontop of that when importing, so 290.1 is about the best case scenario right now.

So with me being uneducated and such I am pretty sure if I were in the market to buy a Linear RED with KBC caps, then my package price of 245CAD+ship is still cheaper than 290.1CAD.

Things are not overpriced when people will pay the extra because of circumstances IE: Supply and Demand. It would take alot for me to sell my Linear-R so I dont think thats going to happen, not to mention I dont wanna put up with people threadcrapping (Not saying you were .XL because it was after the fact). Just something I dont wanna deal with.

Things are not overpriced when people will pay the extra because of circumstances IE: Supply and Demand. It would take alot for me to sell my Linear-R so I dont think thats going to happen, not to mention I dont wanna put up with people threadcrapping (Not saying you were .XL because it was after the fact). Just something I dont wanna deal with.

That's what I was saying. Since it sold the buyer apparently thought it was a fair price. I didn't want to come in and bust his chops while he was trying to sell because frankly that's just rude. I just wanted him to rationalize the price.

Controversy? I don't see any controversy. I was just wondering why you charged that price. I did the calculation on the site imsto linked, shipping came up to $7.50. I added the extra dollar to be safe. Import tax shouldn't be counted - it's a used item and would be shipped USPS. The chances of the import tax are small. I don't know where you got it from or how you got charged import tax, but the 4 keyboards I've sent to Canada have had no problems with import taxes.

Had I know you paid for the customs on both items, then it would have been a different story. That's all I wanted to hear - the regular price of $164+shipping as well as the keys, plus customs duties on both. That I can understand charging more for.

Do you see the difference? If there were no customs duties on either then you'd have overcharged by $40. That's the part I didn't get. Just because duties exist doesn't mean you should charge people for them.

Since you paid customs duties on both and factored that into the price, then you're final price was fair. I'm sorry for commenting to the opposite, you didn't make that clear.

And yes, I know what opportunity cost is. I've gone through several Economics courses and I've got 2 more to take. Not looking forward to it.

It's not my responsibility to inform potential buyers of my costs nor to help them come to a conclusion whether it is a good deal. Maybe my math is wrong, can someone correct me? I made no profit instead i lost a bunch of money on the keyboard and keycaps and made a bunch from my installation of the keycaps.

It came with a keyboard and some KBC keycaps too but who cares about that stuff?

First 5 minute impressions:

It's delightful and feels heftier than the standard keypuller, it has a distinct air of dignity and authority and can pull 3 caps at a time... ALRIGHT ALRIGHT FINE

Very interesting differences between the browns on my Noppoo and these reds. The smoothness of the linear switch gives that familiar yet odd sensation of bounciness/springiness from blacks, a feeling that I'll simply describe as "borderline stiff". Modifier keys - shift in particular - are where this is most noticeable. I can instantly say the feel of reds are greatly preferred to blacks for me.. especially for gaming where the modifier keys will need to be used constantly. Going to need some time to see if I prefer these to the browns however.

Initial impression of the KBC keycaps are mixed. You can feel a definite grittiness vs the slickness of the "POM" keys the Noppoo uses. Haven't decided if I like this or not yet. Leaning towards yes. Absolutely prefer both to the Filco's standard keycap feel.

BTW - It's actually easier to read the engraved black keys than the dark brown print on the Noppoo in a dark room illuminated only by the LCD. Not that I need to...but...ha?
