Title: Cherry doubleshots on filco tenkeyles
Post by: strum4h on Thu, 21 April 2011, 15:55:19
So I recently got some cherry doubleshots for my filco with browns. The keys are a smaller profile which I accounted for but what I did not is that when I put the keys onto the board I can easily take them off without my puller. They just kinda slide off. Just kinda wondering what I can do at this point.

Did you harvest those keys from a Cherry MY board?

i think that some put a little square of tape between the stem and keycap to keep it in place

They apply the tape between the metal keycaps and the stem.

the strip of tape is there to avoid the metal directly having contact with the plastic. apparently in testing the stem slowly got grinded down from the metal having direct contact with the plastic stem.
