Just wondering why there are no pictures to be found on the web of a dissected Das keyboard. Will this thing self-destruct if I open it up?
And as long as I'm creating a thread, the reason I want to open it up is twofold: First, I want to see what it looks like inside, and secondly, I want to install an LED underneath one of the keys (ESC).
My plan is to tap into a power lead somewhere on the board (should be easy to find one, right?) and run wires to the LED leads underneath the plate. Is this feasible? I've never opened up one of these before, so before I go voiding the warranty I wanted to ask you who are wise.
Thanks!

Wow. I tried searching for "inside DAS Keyboard" and "DAS model S construction" with no results, I never thought to include "disassembled" in my search terms. Don't worry, I smacked myself. Really.
I read through the LED 101 already, will scrutinize it more closely before beginning surgery. Thanks!

Bwahahahahaha just kidding! You'll probably be fine.
Probably.

Here's the one I found:

A self-admitted ripoff of Laszlo's page, but not bad if you concentrate on the disassembly part and ignore the hack bit.
