Take a gander at this ebay gem (http://cgi.ebay.ca/Cherry-POS-Keyboard-w-Credit-Card-Swiper-MX-8100-White-/330503373182?pt=PCA_Mice_Trackballs&hash=item4cf389417e#ht_5492wt_1042) and see what definition it lends to POS. You ever seen anything like that posted for sale?
I wanna wash my hands just looking at that.
Almost spewed my morning coffee all over my like new in box Topre Realforce 103U-UW that isn't sold anymore.
-
I laughed again when I read "The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear.....".
Apparently hog formers prefer Cherry's over rubber dome....who'd a thunk it?
-
So I texted the seller and turns out this was the keyboard at the visitor's information kiosk at the Beijing Panda Petting Zoo. Figures, eh?
Pandas. Filthy creatures.

You pay 35 US$ for the bacterial culture, the keyboard is free...

Then donate it to a laboratory, get a $100 tax refund*. Winning!
* Not sure if true.

I think maybe a chocolate Easter Panda threw up and died on it. So yeah, could be worth about his "Buy It Now" price.
-
btw, I think it's nice he provided some large close-ups, absent from so many crime-scene keyboard sales these days.
-
He should be offering $35.00 to anyone that will take it.
-
Oh look, he has TWO of them available! I wonder if he'll give me a deal on shipping if I order them both? I also wonder what the one that's NOT pictured looks like.
-
I think he tried but they banned it as offensive material.
I must say the "Backspace" key has the cleanest spot...you could eat off where the typist was making constant corrections.
-
This keyboard was probably home to a mechanics shop.

This is what I thought too.
-
I was going to grab something to eat.
-
Yep. Looks like someone installed it new in a machine shop this morning. Which would actually be preferable... A public keyboard in a panda petting zoo? Ye unwashed masses!
Could be worse though. It could be a black board. Then you'd never be able to tell it was dirty, you'd just wonder why your hands turned brown every time you typed something.
-
Where's Panda_R when you need him?
-
When he's not here threadcrapping he's usually eating bamboo somewhere.
-
Do not want.
-
Wow, I was expecting much worse from the reactions. Totally salvageable. Now, the Cherry POS boards at the Advance Auto Parts near my house... Several of you would delete your accounts if I posted pics. :P
-
bring it on Oqsy
-
I double dare ya Oqsy.
-
You know what I notice - as nasty as that keyboard is - the letters are still there and don't look worn off. Not anything I'm looking for but just wanted to add that point.

Proof that a solid layer of grime on the keys will protect them from wear, and not just from prospective buyers.
-
Why would anyone take a dump on a keyboard and sell it on ebay?
-
Ohhh you've got it all wrong. Why WOULDN'T someone take a dump on a keyboard and sell it on eBay?
