personally i think the saving of $20 does not warrant losing 10 months warranty

Where are you getting your $20 number from? The regular price is $275, so you save $5 + sales tax and shipping, that can still be a substantial amount, if bought new from EliteKeyboard the total price here in Canada would be $349 USD.

As for the warranty, it states on the website there is a very low failure rate:

Due to the VERY low incidence of failure in Topre switch-based keyboards; returns for repair ONLY will be allowed. No returns for repair service will be accepted without prior e-mail approval and a RMA number. No exchanges accepted. This is the manufacturer's written policy, and EliteKeyboards follows it. Repairs will be performed in Japan at the Topre or Fujitsu PFU factory. Repair turn-around is typically 4-8 weeks; loaner boards are not available, but shipping charges are covered by EliteKeyboards during the warranty period.

The problem with that is that EK isn't the only place to buy them.

For instance Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000F8OECM/ref=cm_sw_su_dp) has them for 7 dollars more than you are asking.

I AM CANADIA (insert beer ads here) and interested but I've got to agree. Your price is high for a p2p sale. Then you also want to charge 4% sales taxe on it if not paid as a gift?

I'd rather pay the full price from a known/reliable source as EK. But you are right 349$ is also too high for me and that's why I don't have a HHKB2 yet. This is a niche product within a niche that is still COTS ie not collectible and not even rare... It's just an expensive oddity. Please send a PM if you can't get rid of it and you are welling to lower your price.

Not your problem but I will have to add a set of keycaps on top of it... (78$ + shipping from EK) Which make a brand new HHKB2 with already printed keys even more attractive.

The 4% was for the PayPal fee, I thought that was obvious.

Why in the world would you buy a set of keycaps for this keyboard, this is the blank keys version. You obviously would buy the printed key version instead of spending another $78 on top of the keyboard.

I can say EliteKeyboard is selling it for $5 more than what I am asking. So Amazon is selling the keyboard for an even higher price than EliteKeyboards? Why would you buy from the at all? The price after taxes and shipping would be even higher than the $349 that I paid. What was your point?

I used Amazon because of my statement that they aren't the only place to buy from.

Tax?

289 =/= 349

Don't get angry. :/

There is no sales tax in USA? You are so lucky, here in Canada we have to pay 13% sales tax.

Some call it threadcraping others will call it negotiation.
I'll be glad for the saller if he gets his price.
I'll be glad to buy his board for 200$-ish

How much did you pay for yours?

He's going to get as much as people are welling to pay for it.
I'll buy one sooner or later. I'm looking for a deal and there's nothing wrong with this.
There is also nothing wrong to try to sell it at a good/high price.
Deal or no deal, very easy, very clean.

Hope not.  The Ebay section  for example has had a long history of being the most lively section at Geekhack.   Past Webwit and Welly exchanges make today's classifieds/greatfinds exchanges look tamer than Justin Bieber.   Like ICE-T going from Cop Killah to Law and Order SVU.

:]

Gooodluck selling the KB. Sounds like a good deal for Canadians!

Who likes them tho... Canucks knocked out the Blackhawks!

To all the people who took the time to read the thread, the price stands. I had to pay shipping and tax, like everyone else, when I bought this keyboard new, so my asking price is not unreasonable. You will save $79 for a rock solid keyboard over retail. If I do not get the asking price I will keep the keyboard, this is the best mechanical keyboard I have ever used and it is not like I will never use a desktop computer in future, so there will always be a place in my life for a high quality keyboard. The lack of second-hand HHKB's for sale show this is a keyboard many people find worth keeping. For those who have an issue with my price, I recommend you pay more money for a brand new keyboard, I assure you will love the keyboard and it is well worth the $349 USD price.

Just saying, I sold my HHKBPro2 for $200 and it was only 8-9 months old.  It would be $275 + shipping + tax for me from EK, since I'm in the state of CA.  If you get any bites for $270, then by all means good luck, otherwise, keep it and use it for personal consumption :)

It's not so difficult to understand that he is mainly seeking canadian buyers since for them this one is a good chance to save a lot of money coming from taxes and customs if they buy a new one from Elitekeyboards for example...
