Hello geekhack!
I've lurked for a while now, these forums really do contain a wealth of information..
I bought my ABS M1 back when it was on mega sale for $20 shipped and have been really liking it. I know that it's considered to be the in the lowest tier of mechanical keyboards, but it's still much better than the Logitech G15v1 that I upgraded from.
Anywho, the 1 key on the numpad has stopped responding to anything but the hardest presses.. Sucks because I use this thing for a lot of data entry, and I can't anymore. I tried following a guide to disassemble ALPS keys to try and get the keycap off (maybe some crud stuck in the switch) but no dice. Are there any guides to disassembling this keyboard specifically?
Also, if nothing ends up working, what's a worthwhile upgrade for me if I were to stay under $50-60?
Cheers!

Just follow the regular alps disassemble guides. Google for it if you have to.

Ah. In that case I have no idea.

Would an AT101W make a good M1 replacement?

If you don't mind how ugly it is, slash possibly shiny keycaps.
Heck, if you want, I have a black one I'd sell for $28 shipped. All you'd have to do is move your (probably better) keycaps onto the few alphabet keys that are shinied.
In fact, it's a real complicated alps, so it should be better than simplified ALPS anyday.

Will you have it for a while? My CC info was compromised by the whole PSN fiasco so I'm getting a new card sent out, won't be able to purchase till about next week.

Absolutely, PM sent.
