just put imsto's PBT keycaps on my filco and even though you can only see them in the light.. i can see two long scratches on the spacebar.. i even did a fingernail scratch test on it and now there's 3 =( lol
i'm pretty surprised how easy it was to scratch it with my fingernail...
is there any way i can remove these? it's very slight but it's enough to bug me.. considering i paid so much for these keycaps too
-
you can sand it smooth but then u'll have to do the entire keycaps to match.
-
=( how annoying
-
sorry bro but the the laws of physics must be obeyed!
-
Maybe you can rub it a bumch? But then you'd wear down the keycap so it's closer to getting shiny.
-
you guys are supposed to make me happier
but now i'm sadder
=((((
rofl ****kkkkk

No time to worry about Entropy and the Death of the Universe, boobs moar important.
and relax dude, they're just keycaps. They don't make u feel good in the bed.

I think you can use the good old toothpaste (no gel, fluor, whatever, just a good old white one), I never tried it on a keycap, but is a trick widely used to get rid of scratches on chellpone's, plastic displays and housings.

Those are all shiny surfaces, not matte.
LoL too bad the OP didn't say he had a DAS. :-)
-
Mr. OP, don't worry, your finger will polish off the scratch in no time :)
-
I was told that rubbing it (?) with an eraser can help, thou that's on ABS. Maybe you can try it for your PBT caps too

ah jus tried that with a pink eraser.. no go =( it did remove my fingernail scratch as i guess it wasn't that deep.. but didn't do anything for the other one.
used the old fashioned pink eraser.
thanks for the suggestion though!

I keyboard that gets used will look used. I think you should remember what Ripster said. Now you won't mind the shiny space bar effect in 6 months. OCD only robs joy. I know a little about this. Just use it and enjoy. Your keyboard now is "unique". One of it's kind.....Oh, a "limited edition". =)
I'm still playing with my new keyboards and don't have these problems yet but may wish to do something about it when it happens, I don't know but I'm determined to be content just in case there's no easy fix. That's my advice anyway.
@Ripster,
What's IMSTO?

Imsto is the name of the person selling these keycaps. This is the thread:
