Is there any way I can get hold of this with brown switches and white lettering on the keys? I don't particularly mind ordering from overseas as long as I won't get hit with massive charges. I'm from the United Kingdom.

Thanks for the reply. Do you know if there is anywhere that will deliver these keyboards to the United Kingdom without charging an arm and a leg for delivery?

check aminglau on ebay.

I recently bought the Noppoo Choc Mini from aminglau on ebay and the font is actually a lot lighter than Ripsters model. The font is also a bit skinnier.
-
^ If you don't mind, can you take some pictures of it? I'd like to see and compare if possible. Thanks! =)
Edit: Oh and welcome to Geekhack.

Last i heard from aminglau, he told me the new noppoo will have the white lettering. I asked about blue thoughs and that was around february.

Sure thing reaper. I don't have access to my computer (on an iPad) at the moment but on Monday, it's first on my list of things to do. I was very surprised to find that the font was so bright. I received it at work and didn't get a chance to pop out the keys for inspection but they sound like they're thick as the bottoming out is dampened (Cherry blacks)
Thanks for the welcome guys. Also, the font on mine is still gold and not white. I'm not sure when it was manufactured

Ripster loves that terrifying photo of the Noppoo.
Don't know if it's a bad board, bad lighting, or just bad camera taking skills but the Noppoo, at least mine, looks nowhere near like that. Check out the image gallery in my sig to see mine.
EDIT: Actually looking at the photo and comparing it to mine, I think that might be an older version of the Noppoo. Compare the Scroll, Num, Switch lock keys in the upper right hand corner in that photo compared to mine in the image gallery. It's different. Perhaps that's a first gen and the printing on those were significantly worse than they are now.

Mine was very much like that photo.

Hehehe... anyhow. very much like the muddy invisible text version at the beginning of the thread.

Where did you happen to buy your Noppoo from?
-
Ebay, from the seller aminglau. He seems to be located in Hong Kong but I received my board really quick, like within 4-5 days, although I'm in Hawaii so in this case, for once, it's faster going here, might take a bit longer if you're on the mainland.
He still has the MX black variety that I bought up:

He used to also have MX brown versions last I remembered, looks like he sold out for the moment. If I remember, they were more expensive, I think $125 if I recall correctly.

Poker X was available on Ebay as well. You pay more but you got it within a week. Nothing new.
-
Yeah, I saw the Poker and Noppoo on eBay as well, but BaconKnight's Noppoo picture was different compared to the one's on eBay.
-
Well the Num/Scroll/Switch/Fn seem to be different. The top color matches the rest of the keyboard while the alternate function coincides with that of the other keys, which I like.

I bought mine from "bid-station" on eBay with brown switches. Cost me 130$ including shipping and I am very happy with it!
Lettering isn't as bad as I thought it would be...

Grats, good picture of the board. That's how mine looks during normal daytime. Noppoo in my gallery is with flash, but to be fair, all the keyboards were taken with flash.

Yeah, I was looking at that keyboard too. Unfortunately he's out of stock now and says that stock won't be replenished until early next month.

After using this for the past few days I've realized that the entire F row needs to be replaced with taller keys. The height wouldn't be an issue if it was spaced out from the number row but it's really weird the way it is.

I got my my cherry browns from bid station... delivered in a week so the wait wasn't so bad. So far, I'm loving the feel of the keyboard. The board itself is a little light but I enjoy typing on these browns. I thought the lettering of the keys would be darker but I don't mind it.

Wow, I never noticed this and I thought my typing skills were bad!
Try popping up the keyboard stops and see if it helps. I know it helped me a little.
Fn layers to access the F row is still the best - just like my HHKB heh
