Title: White Realforce 87U?
Post by: litster on Tue, 17 May 2011, 04:15:00
Is this even more rare then the 87U Black?

You already have the 86U. I think there is no sense in buying the 87U unless you want the all 55g.
Buying the Topre Numpad separately makes more sense.

yeah, I am getting greedy.  I want one at home and one at work.  On the Topre wiki, it says SE0700 as "Not Available" but the SE1700 and SE1800 are "Limited Availability".  That why I thought the White 87U is more rare.

I found tenso.com buying service.  So maybe I will use it.  There are 5 vendors on rakuten.com selling 87U, but none ships to the US.  So I will have to use a buying service.

No, it doesn't. selling the 86 off to someone like you and using the money from that and from the keypad to get an 87 would make more sense. An 86 together with the keypad cost about the same as an 87. Except on top of having the better keycaps, DIP switches and INBUILT numpad , if he ever wants to sell in the future, which do you think will be easier? One single 87 or the keypad and the 86? Not as many people think as "uniquely" as you man., RIGs.

litser, you won't have to go through a buying agent. I'll be clearing off a few of my 87s after i'm done with my group buy thread. Bought a few expensive Legos including a Boba from the cloud city set (Ripster should know which) as well as a Neil Gaiman limited edition that I would give up 5 87 silents for... And yeah, I do have quite a few. Brand new except for testing which frankly isn't needed. I'm a hoarder and I really do love this board.

Only one uniform 55g if any i think and most are silent ones. I have tried both and I like the silent ones better for sure. But there is a 91 all black 45g sub dyed which has an ok layout if you just program the two kana buttons to space as well. But i'm just now sure how do people sell things here. Been wanting to ask KL about that. If people here are as nice as they seem to be except of course for a "special few like ^" ...Cos most of the ones in the various forums aren't where i'm at aren't... ...

eh, RigS, wanna switch countries with me? you'll feel right at home here. =]

Thank you for your valuable input!

Why are you so angwry? Do you have penis issues?
Have you seen the latest South Park (http://www.southparkstudios.com/full-episodes/s15e04-tmi) episode?
Appearantly there is a direct correlation between anger management problems and having a small penis.
Wait, are you Asian (http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?17750-Osaba-Bin-Laden-has-been-killed&p=343949&viewfull=1#post343949)? It would explain everything.

IIRC the OP bought his Realfroce for $200. He can easily resell that at the classifieds and get back his money whenever he decides to sell it.
There are a lot of geekhackers who want to try a tenkeyless Realforce, and it is easier to justify a $200 purchase, than a $300+ one.
Not to mention that if he buys the expensive 87U and decides to sell it later he would lose money.
Also lot of geekhackers (http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?18197-Realforce-87U-Questions&p=348538&viewfull=1#post348538) buy the tenkeyless keyboard because they don't need the numpad and they would rather prefer a proper numpad than a weird integrated one. The numpad doesn't even need to be a Realforce.
However I'm sure that he would be able to resell that rare Realforce Numpad in less than 3 hours, but people usually don't buy separate numpads to sell them later.
Afaik the 86U has dip switches as well.
The 87s do have windowed keys for the Numlock, and Capslock, but that don't make them better.

I'm going to wait until 87U's are going for $400 on ebay, then sell mine.

That's just how I roll.

I hope they will go even higher. Once at my door, mine was not far from the $400 mark.

Hum, support@Leopold.co.jp sells and ships directly to the US for around US$340 shipped.  They will start shipping again by end of June.  Now is actually a good time to sell if you want a higher price.

Oh yeah, Rigs, by the way, ">" doesn't represent an arrow. Just in case, you know,  you get confused like the last time. Again. =]

Ripster, you are the number one keyboard expert on the planet!  Serioulsy, what don't you know?  :)

I was going to get the black 87U when it is back in stock.  But it seems the black ones are more dirty looking after use, while the white ones is not as much.  My 86U looks pretty good still.  I saw someone's black 86U at work and it looks like a flake fest.

BTW, someone help me out here.  Does the white 87U look whiter than the older 86U?  From all the pictures I have seen the white 87U looks whiter to me.
