Not mine. Sold mine a while back, apparently for waaaay too cheap!
-
$400?!
-
I'm confused to see why these would go for more than they are brand new at EK. Am I missing something?
-
Wow.
I sold mine for US$230 and incurred a slight loss.
Woot - hope chet0 is still enjoying his Realforce 87U 55g though
PS: He types upside down
-
That 1 extra key costs about $150!!
-
How is that supposed to be a good find?
-
Maybe he's looking for a good offer?
-
I'm 100% sure that no one will buy this for 420$.
-
It's a number game. If I can get it for $300, I would save $100 off asking price.
-
I thought elitekeyboards didnt sell the uniform weight in tenkeyless
-
Saw this one. but it is too expensive, and there are scratches. Also, I think would rather have the variable weight.
-
When I had a poll a while ago, variable won, fwiw.
-
Cool, I am part of the majority, the in group :-)
-
I can get my buddy from Korea ship me a brand new one for less than that. lol
-
You can get this brand new for 330$ shipped from Japan.

Lol, the seller reduced the price.
Thread crapping ftw.

You seriously make it sound so easy. Do you know without going through a buying agent etc, that if you want to buy something on your own from some Japanese sites, you have to register first and that one registration form can consist of both types of kana as well as kanji and some parts MUST be written in Japanese. Do you even know how many types of Yahoos they have and each with their own forms? And no, google translator ain't gonna save you. Those forms can be cruel. Or which banks they even accept? Visa and Master from japan, China, US, Singapore, Mars, are NOT the same and accepted equally. I'm Asian and I myself do not understand why they make things so hard. If it were that easy, well, there wouldn't even be a need for expensive buying agents like the one in your link, would there?
I really hate it when people make assumptions without trying for themselves.
-
it's like saying a space saver really saves space. Yeah it does. Compared to what? This is as silly as your RF suggestion that an 87 is not worth it and to get a 86 along with a RF keypad.... do you know that could cost more?

Blablabla, it is really that easy. All you have to do is send an email to support@leopold.co.jp asking how to purchase the 87UB 55g.
Then you will get a reply with a PayPal payment request.
You mad?

I suggested it to a guy who already had the 86U.

But making assumptions is one of the only things RiGS is actually good at.

awry, why the hate? I tried, it really wasn't that hard, except it is out of stock. That reminds me, need to add a note to the wiki about notifying the credit card company about an upcoming charge from a foreign country.

Since I tried, can I make assumptions? ;)
Cheers!

But making assumptions is one of the only things RiGS is actually good at.
I'm also freakin' good at multitasking, or at pissing off profiteers.
-
Did you try Leopold.jp yet?
Yeah, they are out of stock of all types of 87U. Will be back in stock around end of June. On Rakuten, only the low noise are available. I will have to wait. Kind of like taking a cold shower :)
-

Check your base assumptions for errors.
-
You sure say that a lot.
-
Check your base assumptions for errors.
Hey, aren't you the guy who wanted to trade a set of cherry PBTs for a Realforce?
-

Nope
You sure say that a lot.
I say that whenever I see false base assumptions in a person's argument. Comes from teaching rhetoric in college. Waste of time arguing when someone won't even error check their basic stance.
Example: When did you stop beating your wife? Check your base assumptions: am I married to a woman? Did I ever beat her? Did I stop beating her? Useless to argue if none of these are true.
-
Liar!
-
Liar!
Nope. Check your base assumptions, you debate incompetently. They were dye sub, not PBT.
(EDITED for inadvertent ad-hominem attack).
-
Why so mean
-
The base assumptions thing is old. You need a new comeback.
I like "talk to the datahand."
-
Each to his own. Fact checking is critical to being taken seriously.
-
I find it difficult to take most of the people on Geekhack seriously.
Seriously, who the **** collects keyboards?? Weirdos!

I have re-checked my base assumptions, and I have been correct about everything.
Cherry dye subbed keycaps are made of PBT.
PBT plastic has a few advantages, like it is not going to yellow (http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?15808-Realforce-colour-poll&p=315211&viewfull=1#post315211) over time, and it is chemically resistant, however it has its downsides as well: it is has a slippery Teflon-like feel and easily cracks. (http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?17942-For-Sale-G81-1300-SAU-11-dye-sublimation-key-caps&p=344461&viewfull=1#post344461)
You had a keyboard with those keys what you probably bought for a reasonable prize, then after realizing (http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?17789-G81-3000SAU-NIB-again!&p=341185&viewfull=1#post341185) some of those go for insane amount of money on Ebay, you decided to make a huge profit on it as well.
The fact that you considered those keys overrated, and inferior (http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?17789-G81-3000SAU-NIB-again!&p=341213&viewfull=1#post341213) to Cherry doubleshots didn't stop you to become a profiteer.
I simply found that funny, so pointed (http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?17942-For-Sale-G81-1300-SAU-11-dye-sublimation-key-caps&p=343492&viewfull=1#post343492) this out in your classified thread.
I also noticed, and warned you about your act of advertising (http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?17789-G81-3000SAU-NIB-again!&p=343505&viewfull=1#post343505) your offer outside the classified section, what is against the forum rules.
So you have pissed-off, and decided to troll (http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?18161-87U-55g&p=348508&viewfull=1#post348508) me, and defend a fellow profiteer, but unfortunately you just f*cked with the wrong guy.

Whu-oh. Now you're reminding me of Welly again.
-
I'm sure he must be a good guy! Too bad he left geekhack.
-
He was a lot like you. It's been better since he's been gone.
-
You do act like a self-proclaimed representative of everybody's opinion.
Webwit was right (http://deskthority.net/viewtopic.php?p=13431#p13431).
-
Keyboardlover still argues better than you do, RiGS.
-
There was no argument.
-
=o
-
And you're a lot like webwit.
A complete and utter baby.
Since you like to whine and cry so much, why don't you go hang out at WankThority instead?
-
=[
-
I don't waste my time on your trolling anymore, since you got my posts censored (http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?17208-Korean-OTD-guys-New-custom-Keyboard-quot-The-cheats-quot&p=335072&viewfull=1#post335072).
You can have the last word you desperately need.
-
All I see is more whining...
-
Nope. Check your base assumptions, you debate incompetently. They were dye sub, not PBT.
(EDITED for inadvertent ad-hominem attack).
Wow! I'm suprised that you censored yourself.
You have just earned my respect, so I won't troll you in the future.
-
=]
-
Is it too difficult to just not troll people at all?
-
awry, why the hate? I tried, it really wasn't that hard, except it is out of stock. That reminds me, need to add a note to the wiki about notifying the credit card company about an upcoming charge from a foreign country.

I never aimed it at you. =]
I've been there a couple of times. Getting a credit card account there is a real pain in the ass. Wait, Sorry, am I allowed to say that?
-
Wow! I'm suprised that you censored yourself.
I was trying for the "incompetent debater"/"master debater" juxtaposition, but it fell into the ad hominem realm and that's just not appropriate.
People pay the big bucks for the dye sub thing, and not the PBT thing, right? That PBT argument obfuscates the real issue of why dye sub keys' asking price is so expensive; it's akin to arguing that people who buy a Model M Space Saving board are just paying too much for a mylar sheet board. They're not paying extra for the attribute you're highlighting.
-
I think the dye sub thing just by itself doesn't have any special value over doubleshot molding. Some people prefer the feel of PBT keys.
However PBT doubleshot keys don't exist, so dye sublimation is the second best alternative to achieve a good contrast.
However I still think that a set of keycaps are not worth the price of a Realforce keyboard.
-
I think the titaniums ones can justify the price
