Back in the middle 1990s, I was using an office suite called Lotus SmartSuite (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lotus_SmartSuite). I was happy with it except that back then I was swapping a lot of files with people and they were all using Microsoft Office. File compatibility between those two suites wasn't all that great so--being the only Lotus user--I switched to Microsoft Office.
But I just found this picture of Lotus Word Pro on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IBM_Lotus_Word_Pro):

Now, I remember how happy I was with this Lotus suite until I had to switch to MS Office. After that, I completely forgot about the SmartSuite. I just read somewhere that it's no longer updated by Lotus/IBM.
So I'm wondering what happened with this suite? I was quite fond of Word Pro back in the day. Yet I somewhat disliked its predecessor Ami Pro... go figure--I hated how Ami Pro unpredictably changed the formatting on different computers with different printers (that was on Win 3.1).

Isn't Kapor dead yet?
Not yet. (http://twitter.com/#!/mkapor)
But didn't IBM buy Lotus anyway?
