Title: IBM 1392980 Space Saving Model M 250$ BIN
Post by: MissileMike on Wed, 01 June 2011, 14:46:39
This seems a little high to me, but maybe space saver mania knows no limits.  First, you have to swap controller boards with a full sized M to even get it working.  And it's used.  And it has no good pic of the keyboard.

...but it's a ssk.

So you would need to buy a regular Model M to swap the controller board?  But then the embedded numpad would not work, right?

Correct.  But does anyone ever use it anyway?  I never have.

For your own use, true.  For futher resale as a collectable item, that would lower the value.

You could adapt the controller to be PS/2 or USB compatible. I would NOT want to pay $250 for the luxury of doing that though.
