Title: Modification for Steelseries 6Gv2?
Post by: LiMP on Mon, 13 June 2011, 18:46:49
Hey guys, I'd like to modify my Steelseries 6Gv2 a bit, atm its the standard version, with printed keycaps. So I was searching the whole day for colored keycaps, but elitekeyboards.com was the only site that gave me a decent result (ordered the Red Esc keycaps there), which is not enough for me :p Now I need you guys to give me a good site where I can keycaps similar to this one: (http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3599/5822756047_4dc85e1f82_z.jpg)
Also it would be great if someone could tell me how I can get rid of the printing (?) on the keycaps, so that they look like the Non-printed ones.

Big wall of text, but I hope you understand the most and could help me a bit, if anything is wrong in my grammar, sorry for that, english is not my native language ^_^.

Thanks in advance, have a nice day!

Sandblasting or sanding works for removing the lettering but for Steelseries lasered keys it's gonna take quite a while per key.

Fingernail polish remover works but you'd STILL have to sand and the acetone in it is pretty nasty.

I just want to have the printing off, not the whole color :S

You can buy some engraved ones from imsto, which kind of gives the no letter look, I believe those ones fit the 6gv2 (though maybe someone can confirm).
