Title: Ncbound10 - Televideo Terminal = Clicky IBM ????
Post by: Sam on Sun, 19 June 2011, 20:23:04
I've bought stuff before from ncbound10 with very positive results.  So this listing is a bit confusing to me.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290578680831 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290578680831)

It's a Televideo terminal keyboard, so why does the title say, "VINTAGE TERMINAL KEYBOARD MODEL 925 CLICKY IBM SPEAKER"?  Is there just something I don't know about this keyboard, and it was made by IBM and is some clicky variety?  I used some Televideo terminals in the past, but don't recall them being particularly clicky, though don't think I ever used this particular model.

It's a confusing auction. "This keyboard is used and not tested ... Works great." Bwuh?

Here's another screwed up listing:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260806058704 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260806058704)
Quote
Vintage NMB Right Touch RT8255C + Clicky Keyboard IBM
But there's only one keyboard there, not two as the "+" would indicate, and no IBM anyplace.  Wonder if Ncbound10 got some new help who's screwing up these listings, or what.

Old Cherry Linears and keys thicker than your average Jersey Shore IQ.

I thought those might be old cherrys. Do they fit MX switches?

yes, the stem on these old switches matches the new one. They are the same type of switches as on a video editing console grond found. The caps are with gilgam now, and they fit perfectly.

It's not an IBM (I saw the auction too, briefly hoping it was some beamspring board I'd never seen before), it is, as the auction states, a Televideo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TeleVideo). They made terminals and CP/M machines. Thought they'd probably be linears, thanks for confirming Ripster. Lovely thick doubleshots though. I love domed keycaps and thick doubleshots -- can't wait for my IBM 5251 keyboard to arrive!
