Title: quick touch force question
Post by: Datamancer on Mon, 20 June 2011, 16:44:12
Hello, can someone please give me a quick-and-dirty comparison of the touch force required for a white ALPS tactile switch vs. a standard membrane. I tried the search function but got quickly bogged-down with encyclopedic volumes of information and I just need a rough estimate.

Thanks!

Haha, thanks ripster!
Do you think that much pressure difference is even noticeable to your average user? The white ALPS in question is on a DSI ASK-6600.

5g difference is definitely noticeable. Our fingers is extremely sensitive.

Blue 55g and Brown 45g (10g difference), but Brown is felt a lot lighter.

Yeah, the Wiki here kinda sucks.

It's about 1 or 2 nickels.  70g versus 65g.  A lot though depends on the switch because some ALPS feel stiffer than a hardened criminal after a Viagra heist.

God, should I ever find myself in want of a good hyperbole, I'll be shooting you a pm, sir.
