I don't understand why they are called jelly, but these are essentially semi transparent keycaps made of POM

Well this blows. Not only are the blanks I'm ordering from Group Buy 3 holding up the rest of my order, but they're inferior to the blanks here :( Wish they had the number row and F1-F12 row though.

Any chance you have a sample of white and a backlit keyboard to show off?  Love to see how these look with an LED behind them.

Is the cost of a jelly with color set + shipping $34? And do we just paypal you the money and leave our info? Sorry, I'm new with group buys.

Yes, it is ($19 + $15 for shipping), paypal his email in OP that amount and put your shipping address + Geekhack username in there.  Also be sure to include your phone number since the courier company needs that for any overseas shipping.

I will put the keycaps on my TG3.

I think they look nicer on a board that uses diffused light LEDs like Xarmor instead of the clear/narrow beam ones used on BL82.

I have never participated in a groupbuy before, so please excuse me :P
How many keycaps do I get for which price? Like one keycap 5$ or a whole keyboard set of like 60 for 50$?

sry :S

Post by: alaricljs on Wed, 29 June 2011, 14:11:39
Look at the first post.  In that there are separate prices listed for shipping, multi-shipping, the cost of a colored keys set and the cost of a white set.

The contents of 1 'set' is the alphabet, the symbols to the right of the alpha,  and the arrow keys, so that's 37 total.  Check out the first picture, the colored keys are what's in the colored set, same keys in white is the white set.

Yup, usually it's a set of 37 in a box and you have 2 choices of jelly or plain (jelly = $19 and plain = $14).

These look really great!

Do Cherry 37's have different key profiles than Filco?

Do you know how the angles/heights compare to stock Filco or Signature Plastic keycaps (top, home, bottom row)?

I have a few sets from KBC and they fit right on Leopold, Filco, Ducky, etc. and seems to have the same profile.

I tried to do that yesterday but was having difficulty with it. I ended up with a group of 6-7 keys with one height and the rest looks the same to me.

I figured it out by comparing the hight. You probably cheated by looking at the OP. They look nice on white keyboard. My keycaps are white POM.

Post by: reaper on Tue, 19 July 2011, 23:22:56
lol Yeah I cheated. =D  But even that, they were still different hight and stuff.  Took me a while to figure it out..  imagine it'd be more difficult with all white.

Received the caps today...im not as happy as I was hoping to be. I have one cap with some black plastic in it, im suspecting residue from a previous cast in the same form that didnt get cleaned thoroughly, and also didnt receive my "free" keypuller. Still a decent deal for 19$ I guess, but meh.

The keycap puller was the thing that made me finally decide to order, so its a bit more of a disappointment to me, guess ill be sticking with mr. wanna-scratch for now^^.

Here is a (pretty bad) picture of the cap, thanks to the flash you can see that its is actually part of the cap, not just on the surface, there is no way for me to remove the stain without ruining the cap.
And yes, this cap is from the row behind the spacebar so it is quite visible.

got mine today, although they dont fit perfectly cause they are too flat, they are quite nice looking. Too bad I still have to remove the caps with a screwdriver cause there was no keycap puller with my order :( Still thanks imsto, was worth the money and the 4 weeks waiting ^_^

Good thing the black spot is at the bottom. I didn't see any on my keycaps. I put the POM on my Filco blue and they are lower than the other keys. But I think it's kindda cool - 3D keyboard. I like the feel of POM texture and typing also feels nice.

Would make sense as the OP pics show Cherry boards as well >.>
