FOR SALE: Kinesis Advatnage.
PRICE: SOLD
LOCATION: UK
I really don't want to sell this board as I love typing on it! Seriously, once you get used to the matrix layout and the back space (where god intended it to be) the Cherry browns are amazing to type on.
I bought it a couple of months ago from an older woman. She was suffering from RSI and so she thought she would try one of these. She couldn't get used to it so she decided to sell it.
The keyboard is in perfect condition and it hasn't had much used at all. It comes with both manuals and the padded wrist rests. Unfortunately the lady that had the keyboard before me threw away a couple of the spare keys which allow you to convert it to a mac layout as she thought that she wouldn't need them (annoying...). IMO the current layout is perfect for OSX or Windows 7 I don't know why you would want to change it?
Anyway, here is the spec from the website:

If you have any questions, PM me and I'll get straight back to you.
Thanks,

$100 GBP (~$160 US) is a pretty good deal if shipping to the US is less than $50. Bump for a good deal.
-
Thanks! Yeah they usually sell new for about 299 USD. I'm certain the keyboard has not seen much use (I haven't used it a great deal and the previous lady didn't use it much either).
-
I'll take it if it is still available! PM sent.
-
Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner! I would have bought it if I didn't have one at work already.
-
Thanks! Yeah they usually sell new for about 299 USD.
$299 is list. Best dealer I've found in the US is Fentek-Ind, sells them consistently at $269 for years now:

Dunno if they sell the Advantage LF with the red switches though yet.
-
I asked them about it and here is what they said:
"Kinesis will not make a custom version of the Advantage Keyboard, sorry.
With the Advantage keyboard, Red Cherry would not be a good fit, since it is a linear switch, and part of the benefit of using Cherry switches on that model is the tactile and audible feedback.
Also, at the moment, we do not have any keyboards with a Red Cherry switch, and do not anticipate they will be available on any of our current offerings soon.
Thank you for visiting our website, if you have any further questions please feel free to contact me.......Randy"

Please respond to them, and let them know Kinesis already makes this keyboard. It's called the Advantage LF, I know cause I bought 2 of them.
Feel free to point them here:

And the cherry red is a GREAT fit, exactly because the keyboard provides an audible feedback. Anyway, it will sure help folks to get this amazing keyboard for cheaper if dealers like Fentek start getting it !

I replied. I should probably put this in their subforum.... done

Re-reading the fentek email, I think they misunderstood. They are thinking you are asking about a custom request... they are not aware it's a real option Kinesis has available.
The part number for this keyboard with the red (linear) switches is KB500USB-blk-LF
And the logo on the top of this new keyboard says: MPC USB/LF it's visible in the photos.

Kinesis may not be "pushing" the LF model...maybe just investigating to see what happens on a very limited basis for a future evaluation. They are contacted quite often from people with special requests, mods, parts for mods. The LF may be one of their steps towards the next model of Contoureds they're working on.

Provisionally sold to Findecanor!
-
Happy with ur 5K?
-
Yeah, I'm really happy with the 5000. I'm still on the hunt for a UK ISO set of doubleshots to finish it off, but other than that I think it is a really nice board to type on.
-
Also PM'd in case Findecanor doesn't take it :)
-
Too late. I have already paid. :)

Congrats for a getting a good deal! I started to type on my Kinesis again yesterday and it is nice. I need to spend more time with it to get used to its layout. The CTRL, ALT shortcut keys and the arrows are what I need to practice more on.
