Is there any such thing as a shift lock key? I mean a key that is similar to the caps lock but extends to the number keys, colon, curly braces etc.
Would anyone use such a key if they had one?

This may take a while.

I've got a Brother CE 650 with a Shift Lock and Caps Lock key, but it does not say Shift Lock. :-(

Caps Lock at the bottom left and Shift Lock above Shift (both blank).
On the upper left, there are red indicator LEDs.
Rubber domes but triple shot key caps, BTW.

I have that on my Underwood typewriter. I've seen it on some nonstandard keyboard, whats it the frogpad or something? Never seen it on a 'regular' pc keyboard though.

In french AZERTY, and (now defunct) Italian, and maybe others QZERTY layouts, shift and caps lock are working exactly as in tipewriters, so caps lock affects all the keys and not just the letters.
