Actually, 2 for me, and 3 for lopan.  lopan and I work together in the same city, so we can share shipping.  It is bad to have a friend close by who is also crazy about keyboards.  Bad influence!

exactly, I was going to wait for Round 4v but the wait time is ridiculous. The wait time for me is 3 weeks for production and then shipped to me.

Thanks for posting the colors. I'm cool with them though I would prefer VCM over VCS for the shift keys. Or does VCS/VCM mean somewhere in between?

How does SP work with these kind of orders? If we want Black text as well do they see that as a separate process? Semms like it'd be pretty easy for them to make 50 sets of each if the only thing that is changing is the color of the text.

Note that I'm going off my price sheet, I didn't get a quote for the set alone.  So I do need to verify with SP to make sure I'm not missing something.  (I'm ordering other custom designed caps for a lil-keycap store I want to start.)

But we could possibly be [strike]< $20 for 50, < $15 for 75, and a bit over $10 for 100 sets[/strike].  

Update: Refigured, and the BASE cost for the caps, without any design charges seem to come out to:

• 50 - $682 ($13.64 each)
• 75 - $924 ($12.32 each)
• 100 - $1,168 ($11.68 each)

Of course, expect to pay a bit more than that as there may be $25-45 setup charge per unique key. Or unique design, need to check on that.  (Could be nothing if they already have this.)  

Also, there will be shipping from SP to whomever is going to ship these on our end.  I'm not sure if they have any other fees.

Anyway, I'll check into this and see if this is accurate.  If it sounds too good to be true... yada yada yada.  But this is what my pricing suggests.[/COLOR]



Not as low as the 7bit could do in the big group buy, but still better than the current pricing, and we should get it much sooner.  

Now, I guess there may be some 3% Paypal fees and such, so I'm not sure how Group Buys normally handle this?  I wouldn't mind placing the order, but I don't want to lose money either.

Well, let's wait until I get confirmation from SP before any new bids come in that are strictly influenced by the new price.  As I said, the cost-per-set will probably be higher than what's in the bullets, but I'm not sure how much.

Or, there could be some good reason Noodles was quoted more, which would apply to my pricing too.

Colors will be:
RR for Control
VCS/VCM for Shift
BFN for Alt

FYI, judging by my color ring, the blue we selected (BFN) is a baby blue, not like shown here. (Maybe closer to the OTD (http://j.youens.com/8YSy), but not quite as "bright").  For green, VCS is similar to the picture above.  VCM is closer to the OTD green too, but a bit darker.  Hard to tell what it'll look like, and perhaps this was discussed before, but just thought I'd raise the issue.

Aside from your monitor calibration, our current colors should look similar to this:

Also, consider adding shipping from SP to group buy organizer plus shipping from organizer to individual buyers.  Should be around $20 / set according aggiejy.  Hopefully there will be combined shipping discount.  The keys are smaller enough that I would expect it would cost the same to ship 1 set or 6 sets :-)

Yes, I'd imagine the shipping to the buyer will cover at least two sets since they don't weigh much.  Just need to find *light* envelopes. :)  Heck it would probably cover 4 sets.

USPS's smallest Priority Mail cardboard box should be able to take as many as ten sets.  I received a full set of Round 3 Group Buy Standard set shipped inside just this smallest USPS Priority Mail cardboard box. All keys were inside a Ziplock bag.

True, we could do small flat rate box with USPS for ~$5.  We could also use a bubble envelope and do USPS First Class mail for < $2.  It's generally just as fast, just not trackable I guess.  Hmmm... lost shipments.  Wonder how that works with a group buy?

Uhh... who's packing/shipping?  I haven't asked my wife to yet. But she's just a stay at home mom, so she's idle all day. ;-) Also, only you can update that front page, so you can't walk away too quickly.
