Check ebay and computer garbage dumps. You may get lucky.
-
Might find a few gems like model m's or omnikeys at such places.
-
Welcome to GH. Cupnoodles55, are you cousin of noodles256? :)
-
I agree with Tony, I think ebay is your best bet...also check out the buyers guide in the wiki section, you can find other mechanical keyboards to at decent prices. Welcome the GH and the world of mechanical keyboards ^^

Here you go. Dell at101 for $20 http://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-DELL-WHITE-CLICKY-KEYBOARD-CLEAN-PS-2-ALPS-/260803402214?pt=PCA_Mice_Trackballs&hash=item3cb91819e6

thanks for welcoming me :) i've heard about the IBM model m too is that better than the at101? im trying to consider any mechanical keyboard really.
-
Personally, I prefer the IBM to the Dell. I just sent you a PM about a couple auctions, and an ebay search that might help you out.
-
What, 'clicky keyboard'?
-
wlcm 2 gh
-
Cheap and good keyboards are available, if you want to spend even less get one w/o the vowels keys as noodles256 did...
-

Haha, no. It's a compound search:
keyboard (clicky,"buckling spring","model m", "dell at101", "cherry mx", "g80", deck, das)
The one I have saved also has things like model f, m15, etc. One thing I haven't figured out yet is how to exclude things. Oh, I should have tossed filco in there too, but I doubt there would be one in that price range. There are older deck and das models floating around, though.

HAHAHAHAH nice.
-
thereferenc, just throw a - in front of the term. if it's a multi word term stick the - outside the quotes.
-
You can always find an old used one at a local 2nd hand store.
-
I've tried that, but it does something weird, in that it loses things it shouldn't, when comparing searches. Oh well, I can just filter by eye, it's not that big a deal. I'd rather have false positives than false negatives, anyway.
-
I've never paid enough attention then :)

hey guys i recently found my old keyboards and i was wondering if they were any good?
one is a Compaq RT235BTW
the other is HP 5107. does anyone know what switches these are and if they would work with a PS/2 to USB adapter
-
Both of those are rubber domes.
They should work with a PS/2 to USB adapter, if you get a Blue Cube or the Belkin adapter.
-
so they arent mechanical keyboards then D: ?
