Title: My first mechanical keyboard - Filco Majestouch 2 - Cherry MX Blue
Post by: Regel on Thu, 07 July 2011, 07:27:24
Hi again everyone, some of you may remember me from my thread a while back about which keyboard to pick (http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?19233-Looking-for-Cherry-Blue-non-Tenkeyless-keyboard).

So I decided to go for a regular Majestouch 2 with blue switches, as the Ninja was only available with Brown or Black switches from KeyboardCo and the Das was only available in EU lay-out and I wanted US QWERTY.

So far typing feels a lot more fun than on a rubber dome, but I haven't had much time to type a lot yet.

However, pictures!

What I don't understand is why anyone would buy the Filco keyboard roof when they ship a perfectly useable plastic cover with the keyboard:

Nice man!

I threw away the plastic cover for my first board and it's my only full size Filco, really regret that one but oh well.

Nice choice! I have the filco ninja majestouch 2 which is basically the same board with keys printed on the front instead of on the top.

At night if I turn off the lights and only have the monitor on, it looks like a totally blank keyboard.

I got the black switch version, linear switch. Your blue switch will be better for typing purposes than the blacks I got, enjoy :)

Oh yea and I also kept the plastic covering, it totally keeps dust out when im not using the board, a huge plus!

Congrats! I believe you will be loving to type on it.
I did not purchase the Filco keyboard cover; I keep using the practical plastic cover with my Filco tenkeyless MX Brown.
