Title: Where to find HHKB Pro 2 Type-S
Post by: mrflow3r on Fri, 08 July 2011, 10:39:22: I know the HHKB Pro 2 Type-S just got released last month. It's a more silent version of the HHKB Pro 2. It looks like it's a matter of preference: whether you like the sound or not. I, for one, don't mind the noise, but still want to try out the newer one rather than the regular HHKB.

Does anyone know when we can see the Type-S in North America?

Post by: hcry4 on Fri, 08 July 2011, 11:17:12: Since it just came out so recently in Japan, I don't think we'll find one here soon. Maybe elitekeyboards will have them, but I'm not even sure how well the HHKB sells on their site. I'm actually interested in one myself.

Not sure of the advantages, if any. Supposedly faster and quieter typing. I'd like to try it out and see which I like more. I don't think it will replace the regular ones. It probably just means ripster will have to wait even longer for HHKB 3.

And I guess it simply comes down to preferences then.

There's no news at all of weather there will be a HHKB3 and the type S is just a small run....its not replacing the HHKB I think its just 2000 units and that's it. Personally I like the sound of HHKB and wouldnt want it quite but that's me :)

I cannot afford a type-S, but I'm curious about its mileage as compared with my DIY silencing mod.
I'm not sure whether I can go to Kawasaki. If I can go and try it I will post a report.
