So, several months back I bought a filco keyboard from armygroup which has since arrived defective (a few of the keys didn't work. I believe they were ins, del,up arrow, left arrow) and was sent back. While it took a week to get here from taiwan, the shipping back ended up taking like 3 months. I probably should have just opened it up and fixed it myself, but that's besides the point.
Anyways, I just recently received the repaired keyboard and while each individual key works now, certain key combos involving ctrl and alt do not work. Tested some stuff with aqua's keytest - the following keys do not register when pressed in combination with the modifier:
lctrl+[any of the following]
ralt b n / ` 5 6 - = del ins home pgup left down right numpad- f1 f2 f8 f9 f12 pause menu
rctrl+[any of the following]
ralt z x c v b n m , . / enter f12 pause left down right numlock numpad/ numpad* numpad- menu
ralt+[any of the following]
lctrl lalt rctrl f5 prntsc scrlk pause
Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated.

Correction: It was home, end, up and left that were broken the first time around.... and they've stopped working again. Spent all of that time and money returning it for nothing - wonderful. I guess I may as well bust it open.

Sounds like your best bet at this time, yeah. Judging from the strange phenomena (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHtxf-NOmAo) mentioned, the (non-)repair is likely to look like an interesting soldering job.
I hope you have a multimeter / continuity tester and decent soldering equipment.

lol. The contact for the numpad enter key was burned off the board. They made some sloppy bridge from the trace to the point. Guess that explains why that key stopped working too.

Sounds like a lot of Filco QC issues lately...

Such sloppy repair attempts sound more like retailer than manufacturer problems. Maybe you didn't get a new but a badly refurbished keyboard the first time around.
Too bad man, it sucks :/

Well, I redid the bridge for the enter key and now the numpad enter, up, left, home and end keys are working again, but I'm still having the issue described in my original post. I don't even know where to look for that.

*ouch* - sorry I don't have input as to how to fix this.. Makes me feel lucky I have not had any problems with international purchase myself... what a nightmare :(
Makes purchasing from amazon (keyboard company) seem much smarter..
