on a personal sidenote to The Solutor: A real clear set would appeal to me but as said, these 'smoky' sets are mostly useless beside for backlight keyboards.

All hail the new #1 Geekhack Troll.

So are you sure this 100% compatible with the PLU-87?  The OTHER clear set being sold has a funky spacebar stabilizer spacing.

Since it was just a modification of the original post to point out that it's silly to put clear caps on a non-backlit board... it's not his problem to decide whether it's true or not.  Pay better attention ripster.

Since a PLU-87 is basically a Filco clone I'd be amazed if it wasn't the same... and of course there's
Quote from: placebo guy;377423
I was only able to test the spacebars on my PLU ML-87 w/ Red, and they tended to rattle.  They should go great with a Filco though since the Filco is better made.
, and then there's dux (http://deskthority.net/viewtopic.php?f=2&p=16605) and intealls (http://deskthority.net/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=857)  but you knew that already...

translucent.

Translucent... not too much unless you have a backlit keyboard.  Clear, $50-60 here.  (But they would need to be *clear*, not Signature Plastic's Group Buy 3 clear... that's frosted compared to some.)

I just got a 1 full set of this keytops.

It is nice. But..

The uppermost (tallest) row have really serious problem.
The hole is too tight. Actually it is way worse than "tight".
It is almost impossible to fit into switch slider.

I tried one (F10). Finally it fits into slider.
Now, its mouth is not translucent any more. Its color is bit more closer to white.
You may understand it if you try to bend translucent plastics to 90 degreees.

I do not know its full history. What I just know is it has two sizes of slider hole (cross hole).
One is regular (good) one, the other is too too tight.

Soory guys, I do not have any advanced digital camera to catch nice close-ups for you.

bye.

Just got photo.

The odd columns are taller keytops, have narrower hole. Really problematic ones.
The even columns are ordinary keytops, have no problems at all.

Is there a 37set of these style available? If so I'd be interested in that. I was planning on doing a partial (alpha's only) backlight mod to one of my Pokers if I don't end up selling it.
