Title: Affirmative 1227T (Terminal Keyboard) PS/2 Issue
Post by: cornsoup on Fri, 15 July 2011, 21:41:54
**EDIT: It is now working, it suddenly works after I install Windows DDK (I don't think that fixed it), now the keyboard works under PS/2 with all/99% scancode recognized!

Hi all

I just received the Affirmative 1227T terminal keyboard (PS/2 Port), it works *partially* with a PS/2 to USB converter in windows (but all those extra function keys cannot be recognized), but it doesn't seem to work if I plug in directly into the PS/2 port (It only works on BIOS, once windows booted, the keyboard is not responding, no scancode being detected from Aquakeytest).

*this is the keyboard :

From specs it should be PC compatible, but from a bit of searching they are selling the driver for $69...umm....

I am using Windows 7 Pro 64bit.... Anyone can get their terminal keyboard work on PS/2 port with windows 7 without a driver?

Also my backspace key get stuck every timeI press it, it doesn't 'bounce back up', it's my first buckling spring so...not sure how to fix it yet..

Any help would be appreciated !

Cheers

Tried running it through the Soarer adapter?  It could just be a scan code set issue.

Also try linux-- some configurations handle the scan code difference better.

Thanks for the reply HakFoo

What is a Soarer adapter? If it is a PS/2->usb adapter then...the PS/2->USB adapter Im using now is "VendorID: 0e8f (GreenAsia Inc.) ProductID: 0020" (From the adapter wiki)....
And I think Linux will definately work, just that I want to use it under windows :P

I just cannot get the keyboard to work *without* adapter under windows, pretty strange considering it works with adapter..but not the other way around...

Funny as it seems, it suddently works under PS/2 after I install the windows DDK (I was planning to follow the guide here and modify my ps/2 driver), but now it's working perfectly ! All scancode regonized under PS/2!

I will use this keyboard as my daily now...

Thanks again
