Title: Before I steal a keyboard from the throw away pile at work...
Post by: Pixel_Outlaw on Mon, 18 July 2011, 18:33:49
I'd like to know if it is compatable with Windows and modern ps/2 standard.
There is a terminal keyboard at work of IBM make that is from an AS/400 server.
It has a MIDI looking plug but instead of having the 5 pins closely spaced they are spread out with about 60 degrees between each one.

Is this bad boy worth taking home with the bosses permission?
It is mint looks like the server was well respected...

This is the plug end I believe...

Terminal? Sounds like you'll need to build a converter, like this one (http://geekhack.org/showwiki.php?title=Island:17458). I'm sure someone else will be of more help.

Yes 122 key terminal.
Ah, I see.
I was hoping for an off the shelf solution but if I have to go cutting and soldering then I might give it a try.

I'd say try get permission regardless. If it ends up not working out you could salvage parts for a future project or something.

It just may be the model shown here, I was in a hurry plowing through the back room and didn't want people to think I was stealing anything.

This is kind of off topic here, but plowing through in a hurry is exactly what will make people think you're stealing things. Anyone who has a genuine reason for doing something won't be in a frenzy. Heck, they'll probably be kind of bored and moving slowly.

If you have a terminal Model M( or F!) you can certainly sell it here if you don't end up liking it.
