Title: Comparison between PLU, Noppoo, Filco
Post by: Marclgw on Mon, 18 July 2011, 22:48:18
As above.

I understand Filco is the best in the market.

However comparing PLU and Noppoo. Which is better?

Comparing to material wise? Build?

Any comments?

Probably Noppoo. Go ask qtan5370, he will probably say Noppoo also.

For me personally, it is rather difficult to make comparisons between them.  They are all fairly well-constructed mechanical keyboards and the choice of key switches will play a more significant role in your personal typing/gaming preference than the brand itself.  For me personally, I just had to get a filco because it is damn weird not owning one if you are into mechanical keyboards.  It's like being a geek you'd have to visit akibahara at least once in your life else something is amiss.

This may be a bad advice but you will not go wrong by starting out with a filco.

True , however the number of mechanical keyboards in the market are still finite. What's your view bro?

I understand Filco is good, however, in Singapore, it had been far overpriced.
Own a Cherry G80-3494-LYCUS-2 though.

From the many reviews I've read, it seems like they're both great in quality wise but the noppoo does have NKRO. I guess it's just a matter of NKRO vs. 2KRO and a preference on their layouts.

It's the much hyped, which is a way different word than "best"

Cherry boards have not so clean look but are definitely better built than most of the oriental boards.

Keycaps are way nicer, pcb mounted switches are more pleasurable, key stabilizers are more robust although slightly less pleasant.

I cant really comment on the quality since I do not own the PLU or the Noppoo but the latter is in the mail right now. What made me decide to get the Noppoo over the PLU was the layout and the NKRO. Didnt have anything to do with build quality.

When I hammer my keyboard with my fists a la german crazy kid I want to know that the keyboard is capable of registering all the hate that I'm trying to channel through it.

PLU is still 2KRO?
Not yet even at 6KRO?

Of course they're finite, that's why there seems to be an influx of the same questions covering the same topics about the same boards.

As far as me, I can't comment on the Noppoo, but I love my Filcos to death, and the PLU is an amazing board for the price.

PLU is somewhat 2kro, but its seriously fine for games... dont let nkro deter you from a plu, i own all 3 of these brands now, and i have to say i think i like my filco the best, but it actually cost the most, the noppoo pro is really good for the money, the plu is as well (mine rattled a lot until i lubed the stabilizers). if its your first board and you have money burning a hole in your pocket, grab a filco, 90% of the time you wont be dissappointed.
