What kind of switches do the matias use? is their build quality any good or is the price worth it?

so what should be expected??? something similar to the cherry blues? but with 60gram force?? are they just as clicky? or loud, or is it like compairing apples and oranges, if u were to choose would u get this board or a leopold cherry blue

It should be louder than Cherry blue. My Filco Zer0 is very loud. Probably almost as loud as buckling springs. But from watching some videos, I think Matias will be easier to type. One thing to keep in mind is that Matias has a bad reputation for cheap plastic case.

I think maybe a buckling spring board makes more racket than a Matias.  

I'm assuming you are getting a Matias Tactile Touch 3?  Mine was a TT2 and had grey ALPS clones (I think they were clones and not the real thing!).   Clicky ALPS clone with a lot of echo.

Build quality was questionable.  The plastic looked and felt cheap.  I am not a perfect typist, but I swear it misinterpreted keystrokes from time to time.

I loved the feel of the keys.  They were wobbly, fast and loose, and very much fit my improper-at-any-price style of typing.  I also loved that it had all the funky higher ascii symbols marked on the appropriate keys.

It's hard to compare it to a cherry switch.  I've used blacks, blues, and browns.  Loose and light like browns, with the noise of blues and then some, but still different.  Wobbly like cherries are NOT.

I'm very interested to hear about the new Matias to see if any of this has changed, I really liked typing on it, and would have put up with the questionable build quality if I didn't think it was throwing out the wrong characters.  I make enough mistakes, I don't need my keyboard introducing errors.  I paid less for the Filco and it feels like a tank, and doesn't throw out wrong characters.  The Matias looked and felt like a toy, not a $150 tool.
