Title: Who wants Cherry Dye Sub RGBs?
Post by: BiNiaRiS on Sat, 30 July 2011, 13:55:14
I have these in hand now. I am currently in the process of thoroughly cleaning these sets. The keys with extra writing on them are dye sublimation as well as the RGB keys. The rest are standard Cherry doubleshots. Of note is the F and J keys that are NOT curved like usual. Instead, these have the raised dot in the middle like the 5 off the number pad.

The RGB keys are all mint condition and from what I can see have no wear. They all have retained their slightly rough texture. Most of the doubleshots are shiny with even wear throughout. They are not patchy. I have also not seen any scuffs. They were very dirty but they were removed and put in individual boxes.

They are real Cherry Dye Sublimation RGB caps, like seen here:

Thank you Sixty for your awesome picture...let me know if it's OK to leave this linked :)

Each set WILL come with the rest of the doubleshot keys from the keyboards. This includes the orange font on some of the keys (see below) as well as the GHB keys that have cutaways for the trackball that was on the keyboards. All keys with additional text are dye subs, as well as the RGB caps. All the the other keys are doubleshots. Most of the spacebars are slightly yellowed...i think they may be ABS.

WARNING: The Control and Alt caps will not work on keyboards with windows keys. They work on any cherry compatible keyboard that has the larger CTRL and Alt keys. The shifts will work on most keyboardsPlease post if you are not sure.

Price for now will be $100 shipped per set in a priority flat rate small box to anywhere in the US. Shipping to Canada is +$7 in the same box. Shipping to the rest of the would should be +$9 in the same box.

I will also be listing these on eBay...maybe some Koreans will see them :D

Feel free to post here with any question or PM me if you'd like.

I may be willing to trade for select items. I need a Dolch keyboard, including caps (or without), Cherry Corp Red Doubleshot ESC key, IBM SSK in mint condition. There might be some other stuff I could use as well, I will update this later.

OK... let's hope that you get all of them :)

Also worth mentioning is that stepped and non-stepped caps locks are usually not interchangeable due to the offset switch, correct?

But now that I reread your post... the non-RGB keys are doubleshots?  hmm, tempting...  love the old school color scheme.

I wont be missing any keys. That I have confirmed.

There is a tutorial on here that I think ripster wrote on how to convert a stepped caps to fit a non stepped board.

I'm relatively all the keys, even the ones with orange on them are doubleshot. Not sure how the orange was added though. We'll see when I get them in.

So is the rest of the keyboard a mixture of doubleshots and dyesubs or are they doubleshots and then the orange part is dysubbed? Or are all keys dye subbed? I still don't have them in hand so I haven't been able to look at them.
