Title: Crooked Keyboard Keys :(
Post by: pagonda on Tue, 02 August 2011, 11:32:09
Hello, I ordered a Adesso Pro MKB-135B keyboard yesterday as my first mechanical keyboard and today it arrived :D...But the keys are crooked D: Is there a fix to this or should I ask J&R for a replacement? thanks
Sorry If it's a little hard to see, but the W,T,Y,I,F,J keys are all misaligned and it looks way worse in real life(the J key is real messed up like the photo suggests

With that many keys not aligned, I would just ask for a replacement. As your first mechanical keyboard, I know how it feels to have to be waiting for it to come back :(

Could have been worse. Could have been a $300 Topre.

Or a 160$ filco :smokin:

Dude, you still haven't figured out perspective?

Better to ask yourself what kind of strange perceptive can rotate clockwise just the center of the image... :pound:

One guy RMA'd his HHKB for this.

This dude also. (http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?7579-HHKB-Pro-2-tilted-key-alignment-issue)

I could live with that.

Normally I say something like "push them down a bit and make sure they're seated right" etc etc but that J key looks WAY off. I'd probably RMA.

OP, I think you have thwo oprions

#1 return the keyboard.

#2 tell yourself that is a perspective illusion and live with it.

Seriously you should start to understand if the error is in the keycaps, like the filco photo i posted, or is in the switches.

Just swap two keycaps, to understand it.

If the error is on the keycaps you can think to replace them as filco people are used to, if the switches are misplaced return the keyboard is the best option.

lol j&r will just give you a previously returned adesso then just look for "B-stock" anywhere or where tape would be.

Isn't the aesthetically crooked keys just that, looks off but would otherwise not effect the quality of typing in the slightest?  Looks matters more to some people and especially if you paid a lot of money for something.  Does it effect the quality of the typing that you can tell?
