Hello, im new to this forum and fairly quickly found out this is the place to go when we talk keyboards.
I live in Denmark (but can easy buy keyboards from around the world, cost is not that much of a concern as long as the quality goes with it)
Im on the lookout for a keyboard with cherry black (im a fps gamer and i bottom out all the time)
I currently own a black widow ultimate nordic edition (got banned by the girlfriend cause of the sound of the blues, great board though) and a steelseries 7g on the way to my doorsteps, but im looking for more, way more....
Do any one of you guys know a great keyboard, with cherry black (havenīt tried brown, but if they have a sound its a no go) with illuminated keys and a nordic layout? ÆØÅ or something like this..... I need this cause my girlfriend is typing at it for her education and she doesnīt really need to fight with this as its a hard enough education as it is...
I hope you can help me out?
Bonus question; is it possible to change the cherry switches to others? Like going from cherry black to cherry brown/blue? or changing to cherry black leds?
How do you guys make background illuminated mods out there? Just place a couple of leds and call it a days work?
Or is there some golden tricks i need to know?

Yeah, ive wondered if it was worth it and maybe i should give it a try :O
Do you know of any keyboards with cherry black/brown, that got leds in the keys (like my black widow) with a nordic layout (keycap engravings?)
Need that for late night gaming sessions :)

The Mionix Zibal 60 has Cherry MX Black's, don't know about a Nordic layout and don't know about the quality too.
The CM Storm Trigger is about to come out and has Blacks, Browns, Blues and Reds, same as the above, don't know about layout and quality.
There should be more Black back-lit keyboards but I can't remember them.
BTW: When looking at the Zowie Celeritas product page it states that normal mech keyboards have a response time of 0.5 seconds and the Zowie 0.2, is that true or is it marketing nonsense?

You may want to search eBay for "Data 911 keyboard" or "TG3 keyboard". These are often Cherry black Illuminated boards that sell relatively inexpensively, $15-30 USD used, made by the OEM of Deck gaming Keyboards.

Definitely. (http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?17357-U9BL-Beige-edition-(clear-switches-brown-springs)
You can also go for the "poorman way"

The solutor;
Okay? maybe it isnīt that bad a job after all? I just got my steelseries 7g black and at the moment, i think brown switches is maybe more the way for me to go.... Its really akward to type on right now, no tactile feedback....
Do you know a great place where i can find switches with ledīs (like the oneīs that is used on the black widow?) Think i just change the switches on that keyboard then and call it a days work, maybe do some carbon housing..... To sum it up, brown/black switches for a black widow with leds? :)

It really depends on skill, equipment, the kind of the keyboard and the quality of PCB, but all in all is just a long process not a difficult one

Switches and leda are two separate components, you can find the leds for cheap on ebay.
About the switches, it depends on your place. For EU users a cheap brand new Cherry board, as donor, is the best option, in US you can find cherry switches them on mouser, onlinecomponents, digykey and so on (usually they retails clears, blues, and blacks).
The taiwan based armigroup site has also a some cherrys for good price.

Oh okay, i thought you bought the switches with the leds cause i can see on the pcb on my black widow that there is 4 solder points (2 for the actual switch, and 2 for the led i quess) and i quessed it would come as one combined package :)
But then i just slaughter my steelseries 7g and try myself forward :)
