I recently got a Steelseries 7G (used) and I love it! Anyway, to the point, the Steelseries Media key that replaces the Left Windows Key doesn't work. When I hold it down and press F1(Mute) it doesn't work. I'm thinking this has to do with the fact that my laptop keyboard is still on, and the media keys on my laptop keyboard are still enabled, meaning the media keys on the Steelseries 7G is disabled?
Any Suggestions?

First suggestion would be to try on another computer, to figure out if it's a keyboard problem or not.
-
I tried it out with an old desktop (windows xp/ps2 connection) and it worked perfectly fine.
So now I'm wondering, howcome it's not working with my laptop? USB Windows 7?

could be like many laptops which require drivers for their keyboards so all of the functions work. that could be interfering with what the 7G sends.

What program are you trying to send the media commands to?
For example, I know Winamp and iTunes needed some tweaking to work properly.
-
The drivers are installed though. In control panel>hardware and sound>devices and printers> it shows my laptop, and an external keyboard named "Steelseries" and it's also recognized as a keyboard.

what im saying is that the drive for the laptop keyboard might be interfering. also is it just the mute that doesnt work or do all of the media keys not work?
