Title: Phone style external numpad
Post by: theferenc on Thu, 11 August 2011, 21:35:10
I'm looking for a phone style USB number pad. By phone style I mean inverted relative to the normal 10 key, similar to a phone's numbers. Preferably, it will also have the letters on it, but that is not necessary.

I know I can get a Unicomp SmarTrex used, but I'm looking for just the number pad that it has.

Anyone know of any? Thanks!

At least some numpad scan codes differ from the number row above alpha keys (which is why numpads often don't work in Linux at least during setup, it only recognizes the number row in many cases) so you might be able to rearrange caps and use sharpkeys to remap them in  your registry or Autohotkey to remap via script.

Unfortunately, it has to be hardware based, as it's being connected to a terminal device. As such, I have no control over any sort of software level remapping, which is why I asked here. I've seen them before, but they were in call centers, so might very well be special order type products.

But if anyone knows, collective geekhack likely will.
