Post by: nz_nails on Thu, 11 August 2011, 23:16:37
Hey new guy here, heard this is the place to be for mech keyboards

Just got me an IBM model m (52g9700), So far i have to say this thing is awesome, I am never going back to a non mech keyboard.

Mine seems to be different to others I have Green ALT keys and the word "FAX" on the front the number 4 key, I was wondering if you guys new any info on this model number (52g9700) and why the ALT keys are green

Cheers guys

Edit: I hope this is the right place for this thread

There are lots of different sets of keys. You just happened to get something that wasn't ordered to be completely standard.

A lot of folks think that the green ALT key is more desireable than the black one (me included).

I also prefer the green alt. It just adds a nice splash of color to an otherwise fairly drab colored board. I still think it's one of the best looking keyboards out there, though.

Thanks for the info guys. Mine has just green lettering on the ALT key if that is what you thought I meant. Also just noticed one more thing it has Green "SysRq" on the front of the print screen key and a black "break" on the front of the pause key.

Cheers guys
