Title: What are my options for a board with Cherry blues?
Post by: BababooeyHTJ on Mon, 15 August 2011, 20:59:12
Well, I'm currently using my Filco with browns. I love this board and it isn't going anywhere but I really miss blues. Like an idiot I sold my my favorite board with the intention of buying a filco with cherry blues. I still haven't gotten around to buying one. To be honest if I could find another G80 3000 I would just jump on that. I also really don't have the $140 to spend at the moment so the filco and leopold are out of the question. It looks like I might have to go with a Ducky from Pchome and I'm not even sure that I want plate mounted switches. What are my options?

I miss that G80.

What kind of keycaps do these Cherry boards have, when they are in stock?

I'm still recommending the Black Widow, especially if you are buying domestically and want a good return policy.

Should be lasered gray on white PBT caps. CDW and TouchWindow might have them in stock for less.

Thanks for the link. Thats exactly what I want. My only concern is the store itself. I've never heard of it and can't seem to find any info about it online.

They do seem to accept paypal and I'm really tempted to just take a chance.

I only mention them because Geekhackers have purchased from them before.

Call them up, talk to someone before you order.

Good to know. They seem like a legit store.

Screw it, I'm placing an order now.

Thanks again.

Well, I did order the keyboard from touchwindow. They didn't have it in stock but told me that it would be in stock I on the 30th or 31st but that was only when I sent a message to find out what was taking so long. To top it off when I looked at my credit card statement they billed me $22 more than the invoice stated without ever contacting me.

Their customer service seems decent enough and their email responses have been pretty quick but there really isn't any excuse for jacking up the price without ever contacting me and not contacting me about the keyboard not being in stock at first.

Needless to say I just asked for a refund.

Adesso Mechanical Pro might be an option. I don't have one, but I poked at one in store. Build quality was pretty close to Cherry. $60 at amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Adesso-MKB-135B-Pro-Mechanical-Gaming/dp/B0038KN6GO).
