Title: Just got my KBC with Cherry Reds
Post by: Epic0range on Wed, 17 August 2011, 18:04:36
My first mechanical since I think my Compaq in 1994, I actually cant even remember if that was a mechanical or not.

So far I love it.  its not to loud, its very small and compact, and feels great. I bottom out a lot though but I'll work on that. ^.^
I do have to get used to the directional arrows though. I've only been using it about 10min but i just love it. So much better than the rubber dome iMac keyboard I was using. Now I just need to work on my touch typing.

Thanks for the great direction everyone.

I'm currently looking at getting one of these, what do you find with the esc lock on, i.e i have read that the fn+esc doesn't give you ~; which for me would be a rather annoying thing.

Also do you find the reds to be to light for long periods of typing?

i am in the same position, in the sense that i would be picking up a mechanical for the desktop computer after using the laptop for too long.

I just ordered mine from Qtan on e-bay. Did you get yours from that dealer? If so, how long did it take to receive it? I won't know about the Poker until I receive it but I found with my Filco with MX Reds it didn't take me long to figure out how to type lightly without bottoming out. And actually love the light feel of the reds. They are my favorite switch. I hope I like the Poker as well as my tenkeyless Filco. I bought the smaller Poker mainly for when I travel.
