Title: mushy key on filco majestouch 2
Post by: eot on Fri, 19 August 2011, 12:07:21
Hi,
I got my Filco Majestouch 2 with MX Browns a few months ago and I like it, but today I noticed that the 'J' key feels really mushy and slow. It's a bit hard to explain but if I'm double tapping the key it doesn't go up past the 'bump' whereas all the other keys do. It feels like something is dampening the motion. I haven't spilled anything on the kb or anything like that. Is there anything I can do to fix it? I haven't tried removing the keycap yet because I'd have to improvise a tool for that.

Sounds like dirt or something got in it. I'd remove the keycap, push the stem, and spray some compressed air in there as a first step.

I did that and it helped, but it's still not quite right
Is replacing the switch a huge hassle?

Yes I removed the key and sprayed a lot of compressed air.
I tried looking for the debugging wiki but I couldn't find it =( could you link me?
