Title: loose/bad sound keycaps (Filco Majestouch 2 brown)
Post by: GN_X on Tue, 23 August 2011, 11:47:30
Hi there,

After finding out about mechanical keyboards I ordered a Filco Majestouch 2 pretty much right away.
A couple of weeks ago it finally arrived and now I'm hearing sounds of the bigger keys that don't sound right to me.

One thing I notice is that the keys feel a bit loose. Sometimes they sound worse than other.

You can hear them out if you want to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qIvj_Hnxt4&feature=player_embedded

I pulled one off and it looked good to me.

Would one of you be able to identify this problem?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to Geekhack!

The Cherry MX keyswapping/lubing guide in my sig should help.

Really should be a sticky.

Thanks ripster!

I will try out your advice!

I'll head out to hardware/DIY stores tomorrow to find me some White Lithium Grease.
