Title: First Mech Purchased
Post by: tbag on Mon, 29 August 2011, 18:19:41
I am a new member and have been reading for a couple of weeks now and finally decided to pull the trigger on my first mech since the early 90's. Couldnt pass the deal SteelSeries have going on right now for 30% off everything. 6Gv2 coming my way soon at a grand total of 75.59 shipped. I had been kicking around alot of other mechs but for this price and hardly any negative reviews i had to do it. Im sure if i like this one i will for sure get another of the higher end models with different cherrys.

I love my blacks, but as far as switch types go, I feel they take the longest amount of time and the most effort to appreciate.

Hope you enjoy it.

Congratulations!

Black switches are quite heavy compared to blues and browns, but $75 is hard to beat.

This keyboard is your only first mechanical keyboard. More to come...

Sounds like you got a pretty good deal. I was thinking about getting a 6Gv2 for my first board, but got talked out of getting linear switches for MX Browns at the last minute.
Congratulations, though. I hope you like it.
