I wonder whether or not they're Browns or Blacks?

I like the clicking of my original blackwidow, but I do want the other features. I'm pretty sure I'll just buy a non-razer mechanical keyboard soon. Not to mention Razer's faulty wiring on the original blackwidow. Holding left-shift while typing certain words would result in the words becoming jumbled. Razer support admitted to me that this was a wiring problem and sent me stickers, decals, temporary tattoos and a lanyard .... -.- That experience aside, I would totally buy a new model BlackWidow if it didn't have quieter keypresses.
Has anyone here experienced this?

I was in class, just thought I'd post the link.
Was pretty sure they were going to be Browns considering the originals were Blues, but considering every other VIDYA GAEMER boards are Blacks...

If the Neowin article is right, that'll be another technological advancement made by Razer! It only took them 4 years of research and what, 30 years of designing? The PC keyboard with NKRO was released in August 1981, how fitting!

agreed the marketing is a load of bs, but really guys, get over it, it's fairly common in this day and age to overstate things for marketting. How about focusing on the actual product? I'm in the market for a brown kb, and was very close to pulling the trigger on a leopold TK, now I'm considering this and would be curious to see a decent review.

Well the build quality will be worse than a Leopold. I've used my friend's Blackwidow for a good few hours, and just got a Leopold today, and the build quality is much nicer on the Leo. The plastic feels better, and the keycaps are not only prettier, but thicker and don't move as much on the stems. It's also a lot more simplistic, looks better IMO.

while I appreciate your thoughts with all due respect that's an assumption. I've got a current BW and I'm very happy with it, but one of the things that struck me about this new version is that it is made from a different plastic. Also exactly how would you rate the build quality higher? On my existing BW I'd rate it HIGHER build quality then my das for example, and I can't really feel / see any flaws in it at all. I understand from reading around that they can be a bit variable, but in the BW's I've used I've not had a single problem at all. I guess I'll have to wait till people who actually have the new BW give some feedback!

Of course, I was talking about the Blackwidow with blues, one that's 6 months old by now, so of course I can't speak for the new ninja. I hope that they do improve their build quality, but I don't see any reason they would, since the BWs seem to be selling just fine, few casual gamers that walk into Future shop have heard of a filco.

My friend bought a Razer BW with blues. I tried it out. It's fine for what it is, if you can get it at a deal, it's not a bad keyboard. But no way would I say it's build quality is higher than a Leopold. Leo keycaps were thicker, less plasticky feeling. Even the little things like the keyboard feet, they just feel higher quality on the Leo. The board in general felt less "solid" as the fullsize BW was lighter and flexed more than the tenkeyless Leo. Then there's little things that just bother me personally. Like the font they use for the keys. And BW was sleek finish which I don't like, too much fingerprints. I asked my friend to try out and compare my Leo for a bit and he agreed with all my points.
Again, not saying BW is a poor keyboard, I'm not trying to **** on it. It's a good keyboard for the price. Leo with shipping would come out to around $130, you can find BWs on sale at frys for $80 sometimes, so I'd expect there to be a quality difference.

thanks for this, you've hit most of my concerns in this post (though I'm not a fan of the lights on the capslock / scroll). The leopold I suspect will have a slightly more solid feel then the upcoming BW, however, while I agree with your other points (bad fonts, and better feet) they are not major for me (touch type, would prefer otaku for all my kb's!). What is a bit more important to me, as this kb will be primarily used for gaming (and unix work), is that I can use some macro's easily (still reading up about autohotkey, looks ok but not sure if it'll work with the games I play). I don't have or even use a ten keyless KB, but I'm very tempted to grab the leopold. Shame I can't easily get them otaku, and with some WASD keys thrown in.
