IMHO The prices for non manufacture chines parts are pretty much the same price than in the states or Korea. If you really want to buy from taobao you have to use a broker (third party service) or ask some friends in China. If you use a broker make sure the they accept PayPal since you will have some sort of protection.
I personally do not buy expensive boards from taobao, since if something goes wrong you have to pay shipping, deal with chines speaking guys, etc. So at the end I prefer pay a little more and get some kind of support if something goes wrong.
Since you have a Chines friend ask him to buy the board for you and he will inspect it
Which city in Australia?

This links to one of the biggest retailers on taobao in this area. It is recognized in several Chinese forums and hopefully, you won't have any problems dealing with them.
For broker recommendation, if you could bear google translation, you could try http://www.aaegou.com/
This is a website powered by AAE, a huge logistic company that I have dealt with several times. They are pretty fast and professional, the only problem seems to be language (anyway, their workers here in Australia do speak some english)

I am based in australia. I have no problem dealing with mandarin so should not be a problem. However i have speaked with one of the seller and apparently they do not offer original package but said that the keyboard is real so this make me afraid of getting fake goods..Hmm..
