Hello GHers,
I recently came upon a typing test site, http://www.keyhero.com/, from my friend xmrxkrazy. The site is keeps track of your typing, and it accumulates the average of your typing. It is a great site to practice. Unlike http://speedtest.10-fast-fingers.com/, there are sentences, quotes, commas, periods, etc. My top at fast fingers was about 121 wpm, but that site is real easy. Key hero is a little bit harder, but it is more fun. Maybe we can do a competition because this one keeps track of the score.

How about Typrx races? They include passages from books etc, but i'm gonna try out keyhero first. EDIT: Not really liking the Keyhero interface, but more prefer typrx. however I'm not sure if typrx saves your data :3

Saved data is a staple :D

I've been using this for the past few weeks to continue training my Dvorak. For my first month, I used TypeRacer (http://www.typeracer.com). I still will always love TypeRacer, but Keyhero allows for so much more typing. The ability to simply press ENTER to go to the next passage to me is essential. In just a few weeks, I've far exceeded my number of races with Keyhero than Typeracer, and I've gotten a lot more typing done.
Keeping track of speeds is also essential since I like to document how well I'm progressing. Typeracer does this very well actually, and those in the know go to seanwrona.com/typeracer to import their info and get VERY in depth data on their races. Still, Keyhero is what I'm using now because I get to type more. Oh, and I like to turn off the error beep (hate that thing now).

HAHA, the beep scared the bageebus out of me at first, so my typing was horrible at the beginning because every time I made an error, I got really surprised. Put your username if you can, so I can see how much you improved.

I've always used my index and ring fingers to type with and just started getting used to typing with all my fingers on the assumption I'll be faster afterwards, I'm back down at 14 wpm at the moment but I'll be up above my old best of 70 soon enough now I'm typing properly right?
I'm using a mix of key hero and senselang at the moment.

my best all time was 68wpm... i cannot comprehend typing any faster than that... i just cant process words that fast.
-
Oh, my username is DvorakPT (http://www.keyhero.com/profile/dvorakpt/). Old and current speed are pretty accurate. Started keyhero after about a month of just using Typeracer.
e. And a comment on the interface. I actually really like it. At first, I thought I wouldn't like how they highlight more than one word at a time, but I've grown very used to it. Just the fact that I can do so many races is my biggest pro for it.

I'd like it more if they were a bit moire selective on the text they used. I just did 5 sessions and two of them had OCR'ed typos in them. That makes it tougher when you have to deliberately misspell a word in order to get it "correct". Best was 92WPM in 5 sessions, not bad considering I'm on my crappy Macbook pro built-in keyboard.
