I've been looking into buying my first mechanical keyboard, and I think I'm stuck between these two. I was having a hard time deciding between brown vs blue so I figure at some point I will get both, but I don't have the money to get both right now. Leopold is probably the best I could get for my budget (I'm in the US btw). So I was just deciding whether to get mx brown tenkeyless for gaming or mx blue full-size for typing first. Then I saw the U9Plus for $85, which is about $40 cheaper than the Leopold after shipping + tax.
So what's the general consensus on the U9Plus? I don't care for the looks as much but for the savings I don't mind. How's the quality and feel compared to a Leopold/Filco? Worth the price difference? Will I be disappointed if I get it instead of a Leopold?

Get Leopold.

I agree, get leopold. In terms of quality, leo is better. If you want backlit, xarmor isnt a bad choice, but you may want to check out the new ducky shine (160 ish i believe).
ps... buy blues ;). Both are great for gaming. You wont notice hysteresis unless you do this

Has anyone tried both the U9 Plus and the Leopold with blues? I know the Leopold's are a nicer quality, but I'm trying to get an idea of relative value. Mostly I want to know how one feels to type on vs the other. $40 extra is quite a bit for me at the moment, but if the difference is big enough I can go for it. I'm also considering the Ducky with blues since it's around $80 + SH as well.

I havnt tried them, check Ripsters Wiki for info ( his sig), ( just look for him, you can find him anywhere) basically the leopold wont "wobble" when you type on it bc its more sturdy (vs the ducky at least). I had a KB b4 that wobbled when i typed, sounded like I was fapping at work. Not cool.

Ive dont quite a bit a of research on mechanical keyboards and settled for the Leopold Tenkeyless Otaku with cherry mx blues.

Roswill RK-9000 with cherry blues has been $99 on newegg. If you trial "Shoprunner", you get free two-day shipping (US).
