Post by: Bilbin on Wed, 14 September 2011, 00:45:13
Was wondering if anyone has completely clear 100% polished inside and out clear keycaps that they are keen on selling.

Something like

Thanks man. I thought that was the clear they did for the group buy, IIRC people wanted polished/glossy clear but they gave them that instead.

This is what she said she could get me.

I asked Melissa what she thinks about using a very fine grit sand paper to remove the texturisation on the top of the keycaps.

No dice, apparently sanding it would make it even more blurred. Guess I'm going to have to go for the ones in the picture. :)

well if you sanded with progressively finer grits up to 2000, you can then polish it with plastics polish. just fyi there is a user here selling 104 key clear sets.

Yeah, he PM'd me but I don't think he wants to part with 16 keys, that and SP are quoting me $21.50 delivered to Australia.

I might try sanding the key cap that will go on Pause Break and see what happens.

get one of those car headlamp lense restore kits. they have several grits of sandpaper and a bottle of plastic polish and are relatively cheap.

Who has the perfect clear 104 sets?  I looked around ABS is the common clear material, but PC be way better (correct?)  So my hunt continues for crystal clear PC keycaps.

Thanks, will need to have a look at my local car stuff shop. How would I go by it exactly? rough - fine sanding then polish, or just fine?
